Dr Margie Cohen

B.VSc.
Behaviour Veterinarian

Dr Margie Cohen is a fully qualified Veterinarian with extensive experience in veterinary behavioural medicine, and is fluent in both English and Cantonese. She is available for behaviour consultations in Sydney on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

With a deep passion for connection, empathy, and holistic care, Dr Margie is dedicated to helping animals and their caregivers navigate behavioural challenges with compassion and understanding. She believes that true healing goes far beyond clinical signs—it lies in uncovering the full story behind each patient.

Her approach to behavioural medicine is rooted in the belief that physical and emotional wellbeing are inseparable. Every behaviour concern is an opportunity to explore not just medical, physical and environmental factors, but also emotional and relational ones. By addressing the whole picture, she helps animals not just recover—but truly thrive.

Dr Margie brings diverse experience from working across private clinics, shelters and rehoming organisations, where she cared for private, stray, abandoned, relinquished, and inspectorate animals. This experience cemented her belief in the power of early intervention, and the importance of supporting both animals and the people who care for them. She knows that meaningful change happens when pet owners and their pets feel empowered, safe, and truly heard. Her calm and empathetic approach creates a space where trust can grow—and from trust, healing follows.

Dr Margie brings clinical experience, behavioural insight, and a strong relational focus to her practice. She is committed to continuing her professional development and is working toward membership in the Veterinary Behaviour Chapter of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS).

She is honoured to be part of the Pet Behaviour Vet team, and passionate about helping pets and their people build happier, more connected lives.
